Virtualize It: featured video interview

This is a video that a client and friend of mine, Connie White, Realtor, just produced. In it, she interviews me about my business, online marketing, and social media. Take a look!

Check out Connie’s full video series, called “Tapping Into Our Local Talent”, by going to her YouTube channel. Her series features experts in the local South Shore business community. Her goal in producing the series is to let the public know about available options, and to help business experts that she trusts to grow their businesses.

Virtualize Updates to a WordPress Website

Welcome to my newly updated WordPress website! After having built a number of WordPress-based websites for my clients over the last year, I decided it was high time I re-design my own website using WordPress. I was tired of telling people “the cobbler’s kids have no shoes” when explaining why I didn’t have time to update my own website.

I had held off on redesigning my website for a very good reason, actually. I launched my virtual assistance business full-time in April of 2009. I knew that due to the nature of the fluctuating economy and the rapidly-changing nature of online marketing, my business would evolve on a number of levels in the coming months. I wanted to wait until I had had a chance to see which services had the most demand, which types of clients I liked working with the most, and which marketing platforms I most enjoyed, before spending time and energy to create a website that accurately reflected the direction I wanted to go in with my virtual business.

I was as surprised as anyone when my business literally took off overnight! The first week I went out on my own, I had a full roster of clients. Since then, I’ve never had a lack of business. My bigger problem has been learning time management as I balance my ever-expanding workload.

I’m so grateful for all the clients I had the privilege of working with over these first months. You’ve taught me a lot – about you, about me, and about the limitless opportunities for online marketing in this virtual age.

I look forward to expanding my website in coming weeks and months, and to hearing from you!

All my best,

Erin
